Welcome to my first post on my blog. NakeilStyles is a forum for my creative expression and every reader that connects to my content. I want to start this adventure with a better picture of who I am and my intentions with this blogging opportunity. I never really grew up in a wealthy living situation, but I was born into a stylish family of creatives who learned their passions and dreams and were encouraged to follow them. I would say that my love of fashion and style started before I ever had a choice lol. Both my mom (Lady foot Locker) and dad (Finish Line) worked for shoe stores for more than fourteen years and managed several stores in the process. So, obviously I was a sneakerhead from birth covered in Nike and Adidas from head to toe.

When I got to the age where my parents actually let me dress myself they gave me the freedom to experiment with my clothes and style. They never held their tongue if they hated my outfits, but they knew it was how I expressed myself. I’ve always connected with clothes and fashion, because in most cases, the clothes are the first thing you see on a person. And that tells so much of who they are so quickly. As I got older, I started to buy my own clothes and always gravitated to the sale racks of every store I entered, because I couldn’t afford to pay full price at the time. I still can’t really lmao. I had to learn how to put outfits together with out of season styles and clearance items.

Those experiences really helped me though, because I was forced to put looks together from different styles and trends, which allowed me to understand that It’s not about the clothes you have, but how you put them together. That’s why I started this blog, to help the financially barren trend seekers out there find themselves in their own style in ways they can afford. We all can’t afford designer clothes, so we do with what we can. You guys will be seeing me post a few times a week from now on with some tips on how to stay fitted without sacrificing the whole paycheck.

My first post is of this little vintage-inspired fit I wore to a mini photoshoot with friends. I wanted to go for a more 90’s college student look and this was the final product. Fun fact: this entire outfit (shoes and accessories included) cost me only $77. Don’t worry, I’ll be breaking down each item from where I purchased it and how much I paid, this outfit included. I hope you all love the content and continue to come back and see what I post next. Thank you for being a part of this experience with me.
